Inspired by the masterful carpet designs of Persian nomad tribes, this painting presents
a basic medallion and border pattern typical of traditional oriental rugs.

The complex and intricate details produced by the oriental hand weavers are so elaborate and unique,
this study is only an simple exploration of the essential elements they employ.
The result of this elementary study of mine is a simple pleasing design,
which displays the harmonious interrelationships of different colours, patterns and textures.
