Reducing the seascape view to its essential elements: the endless big blue sky, warm tropical sea as far as the eye  can see, breaking waves against the sandy shore, silky smooth soft sand.

As an artist, having decided to create images rather than compete with the camera, I prefer to extract the essential elements of a place and organise it according to my artistic sensibilities.  The result is often an abstract or semi-abstract artwork, which no longer has distracting, unimportant details of the surface appearance of the source locality.  This painting is a typical example of this approach.
